Taster Day

Want to know if sailing is for you? You can’t find a better opportunity than this.

A sail taster day makes the perfect present for a special occasion; a birthday, anniversary, Christmas or maybe just a fun family day out, hiring the yacht exclusively with a skipper for up to four guests.

The exact itinerary will depend on weather conditions and tides on the day, but you will meet at our office at 09:30 where you will meet your skipper who is also a highly trained RYA instructor and receive a safety briefing. Then it is time to start your day sailing! You will be involved in helming, sail trimming and rope work, or if you prefer you can sit back and enjoy the ride (the day can be as 'hands on' as you wish). After a relaxing, fun day on the water you will return to Levington Marina at approximately 16:30.

You can cater for lunch yourself, or we can arrange this for you at an additional cost or you may prefer to sail to a waterside restaurant, we have some good recommendation along the River Orwell or grab some fish & chips from Harwich. We are happy to discuss options with you.

What’s included?

An experienced skipper who is also a RYA instructor for the day who will be on hand to show you the ropes & the basics of getting a yacht sailing.

Maximum teaching ratio - 5:1 

Course language - English

You can either book as an individual on one of our designated taster days and we will find the rest of the crew or you can book the whole boat with a skipper and have a day tailored exactly to your needs.

If the weather is not looking great or is forecast to be a bit chilly or windy you can hire wet weather gear from us.

Musto Waterproofs are available in S, M, L, XL and XXL. £11.00 for the day.

This is not an official training course however your skipper will be a fully qualified RYA instructor and will be on hand to provide instruction and coaching as needed.
